About

Nunawading Kangas Basketball Club is a community based junior club established over 50 years ago.  Our players are drawn from Nunawading and the surrounding suburbs.  Our aim is to provide an environment for our players to enjoy sport whilst improving their skills, learning about teamwork and respect for other players, coaches and referees.  Older players have the opportunity to develop leadership skills through coaching younger teams. 

We are part of the Melbourne East Basketball Association (MEBA) and have over 500 players (over 60 teams) playing in the Junior Domestic Competitions.

Our mission:

To be premier facilitators of participation, development and excellence in basketball.

 

Our purposes:

To select and provide teams to play competitive basketball with other teams and clubs.

To teach basketball skills, tactics and rules to its members.

To provide coaching and adequate training facilities for its members.

To foster and maintain at all times, the highest level of sportsmanship and fair play.

To co-operate with similar clubs to promote and improve the game of basketball.

To further the aim of affiliated basketball association(s) to which we belong.

To provide and promote a range of social activities amongst its membership.

To provide and promote any other sporting activity that shall benefit the community.
