Getting started

BASIC TEAM MANAGER INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON

We have provided below the tasks you will need to undertake to get your team started for the season.

The Team Manager’s Duties Manual explains the full duties involved in being a Team Manager and is a really useful resource – please read it.

The role of the Team Manager is extremely important in the proper administration of the Club and we rely heavily on the Team Managers to perform that role correctly. The Nunawading Kangas Basketball Club thanks you for giving up your valuable time to be Team Manager for this season.

New Team Manager and don’t know where to begin?  These brief instructions should get you started, see the list of Team Managers Duties in your kit for a full explanation.

Prior to beginning of Season

  1. Please register as a Team Manager in PlayHQ so we can add you to our communication list - use these links: Monday/Friday Team Manager or Saturday Team Manager
  2. Confirm details of first game (check your fixture via the link in our Players menu) & training time (check with your coach if you have not been informed).
  3. Use your RevolutioniseSport login to obtain a full team list - the Export Team List option gives a player list with contact details.  Click here for instructions.
  4. Contact the players on your list and inform them of above details.
  5. Check singlet numbers to ensure no number double ups (use this link to request a loan replacement top from the Uniform Co-ordinator, if you have a problem).  If a player doesn’t have a uniform refer them to the Uniforms page of the Players menu to order one.  If their order won't come in time, refer them to the Uniform Coordinator at email: kangasuniforms@gmail.com for help.

Before the first game

  1. If your team is listed to play another Kangas team and your team is listed first, contact the Uniform Co-ordinator as above to arrange a set of alternate tops.
  2. Organise a scorer for the game (from the players’ parents) and someone to vote (for under 10 to under 14 teams - this may be the coach or rotated through families).  “How to score” instructions are on Kangas website if required.
  3. Make sure you have enough players, if not contact your Age Group Co-ordinator for assistance with fill in players:

On game day

  1. If the venue has electronic scoring, make sure the team’s details are correct and update computer as required.  Instructions for operating the computer scoring system are available on the through our Team Managers menu or MEBA website (right hand side of fixture screen).
  2. It's a good idea to take a photo of the scoring screen at the end of the game, as occasionally there are issues with the results updating in the Association's system, so it's great to have a copy for reference.
